FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Why do attorneys need Certified Legal Nurse Consultants ?
While the attorney is the legal expert, the ALNC
is the expert on the healthcare system and its inner workings. Nowhere else will you find this level of cost-effective
expertise for reviewing medical records and understanding the
terminology and subtleties of healthcare. We provide attorneys
with the insider advantage and efficiency in medically-related
case work up from the initial stages to trial preparation.
2. Why don’t I just use my MD expert?
(Cost and Analysis)
While MD experts are vital to a case, they are also expensive
and sometimes view charts with a limited viewpoint and minimal
understanding of other providers’ standards of care. They may
only review their area of expertise instead of the whole chart.
Nurses, at the frontlines of patient care, analyze and review
other health-care professionals’ performances and documentation
on a daily basis. We are detail oriented, do a thorough chart
review with both general and specialized nursing and medical
perspectives. Nurses can and must read physicians’
handwriting! We can make your MD time more cost
effective! Lastly, collaborating with
physicians makes for better outcomes.
3. When should attorneys consult
with us?
As soon as a
potential case comes in we can identify the medical issues,
screen the case for merit, make sense out of the morass of
medical records and provide many relevant services that will
help you make your best case.
